On Friday, May 4th, Loci will be partnering with SportsUNITED in Indianapolis to sponsor a 24-hour Esports Hackathon. Esports is a form of competition using video games that are typically multi-player. This event serves as just one of many hackathons that SportsUNITED will hold in their nationwide tour. This hackathon is all about data as teams will use, analyze, manipulate, and create new data in an effort to improve gaming and all that is ESports. And if that isn’t enough, the winner of the hackathon will even be rewarded in…you guessed it – data.
Loci is proud to serve as a Gold Sponsor for this event and is thrilled to have an opportunity to highlight the company and its software, LOCIsearch. This software allows innovators to search for and stake claim to their ideas – all protected on the blockchain. LOCIsearch is also a being developed as a marketplace for inventors to sell their IP to the highest bidder. The hackathon is a perfect venue for the Loci team to introduce participants to LOCIsearch, help them utilize the software, and gather useful feedback on the system.
The Esports Hackathon will take place at The Gem in the heart of Indy’s tech hub, and is open to data scientists, developers, business minds, students and other like-minded individuals. Teams of 2 or more will compete in this 24-hour challenge to develop new solutions to problems in the Esports industry related to fan experience, analytics, eAthlete training and performance, and sponsor insights. Participants will be using the latest technology to reach these solutions, including machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), immersive media, machine vision, and blockchain.
The winner of the hackathon will receive a $12,500 prize value, which consists of a spot in Accelerador and Sportsradar’s virtual accelerator with one-year access to their data and a one-year membership with SportsUNITED. Access to this virtual accelerator is highly coveted due to its existing partnerships with the NFL, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR and star-studded advisory board, which includes Ted Leonsis, Mark Cuban, and Michael Jordan.
